Thought of the day: WoW = Stamps?
World of Warcraft have around 11 million subscribers now (or so the add tells me anyway). Now, it might just be Norway or it might just be me but I hardly know ANYONE in this country that plays WoW besides myself and a friend.
Today I suddenly discovered that a guy in the course I am on plays not only WoW but even the same class as myself! It seems to me that most people doesn't want to "admit" to strangers that they play/have played WoW.
This brings me to the comparisson between WoW and stamps. There are two hobbies that are often mocked in this country. Stamps is one, the other is to collect coke bottle caps (the ones with the one-liners in them).
Well, apparently playing wow equals failure at life and inability to lead a normal social life.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that people who doesn't even play the bloody game makes such a big deal out of it is just dumb. And for some reason, people get afraid of being judged by said people. Le sigh.
Besides, collecting stuff is fun. I used to collect rocks as a kid. Perhaps I should start doing that again xD
